Blog #4

1.  Who do you plan to interview?  Why?

I plan to interview one of my prior coaches, Michael Martinez. He is very knowledgeable about basketball and I am certain he can answer any follow up questions I might have for him.

 2.  You have to ask 5 questions.  What additional questions do you plan to ask?

-What qualities do you believe make up an all-star player?
-What determines weather you win or lose a game?

Blog 3

1.  List your topic here: Basketball

2.  What do you plan to do this year to show growth in each of the ESLRs?  Be specific and use an example.  Examples can come from senior project, model assembly, core, and/or participation in senior class ASB or other organizations on campus (clubs etc).

Effective Learner- To become a more effective learner, I plan to use all my time in class effectively. When it's time to do Cornell notes, I won't be fooling around or quick to finish because I know how crucial research is to my Senior Project. I also plan to be responsible for my own actions and not blame others for them.

Effective Communicator- This year I plan to contribute more to my group(s). In order to achieve that I am going to put in more work and more effort into the group to work for the AE instead of the P. In order to do this, I will make sure to put in more work hours.

Effective User of Technology- This year I want to get better at incorporating technology into learning. I believe it will be more relative and easier to grasp if technology is being used to teach a lesson. For that reason, whenever I am presenting something I want to use the ipads once or twice to help get my point across.

Effective I-Poly citizen- In order to become a more effective ipoly citizen, I will definitely help others who are struggling with a topic if I understand it. To accomplish this, I will tutor them during lunch or after school.

3. What questions were raised because of the 10 hours experience? List them.

Why do truck drivers have to stay within the first two lanes of the freeway?
How do you know if someone is in your blind spot?
How much diesel does it take to fill up both tanks and how many miles will it take you?
Why are big rigs not allowed on certain streets?

4. What is the most important thing you gained from this experience? Why?

The most important thing I gained from this is realizing how much work is needed to get all your products to store shelves. Before I did my mentorship, I didn't really think about where all the things I buy came from and how they got there. It was very interesting seeing the complete process to get a product from the company to the consumer. I also learned many helpful tips from my mentor to make me a better, safer driver.

5. How did what you did help you choose a topic? Please explain.

To be honest, I didn't really like the topic I chose this summer. It wasn't for me. I realized I don't want to work on something I don't like all year. I would rather do my senior project on something I enjoy. Th tat's why I have decided to change my senior topic to something else.
